Lulu just booked a flight for next weekend to Naples and Pompeii. Pompeii is the city that was covered by layers of ash and mud by Mount Vesuvius. It is in southern Italy. The roundtrip airline tickets cost $92 per person - Friday to Monday. We visited Pompeii once way back in 2002 - in the sweltering dry heat of summer. It will be 60 degrees this time.
Our flight is with Valujet. Their budget flights allow you to have one small carry-on bag. We will take backpacks. Last time we were there - we missed the world famous Vesuvius Museum in Naples. Not this time.
