Train Station - Tamaqua PA

This is the train station in my old hometown of Tamaqua PA. It was very busy in the old days - one could catch a daily train to Philadelphia or New York City. Each is about 100 miles away.

Today there is a restaurant in the completely restored building. Today the building is on the National Register of Historic Buildings.

In 1956 - I remember taking the train down the Schuylkill River to see the Philadelphia Phillies play baseball. I was 8 years old. The train went thought Reading and Valley Forge.
