We Visited This 1987 Airstream Excella Trailer On The Way To TopSail State Park

Airstream Trailer

Yesterday on our way to TopSail State Park in Florida - we stopped to see a very nice Airstream trailer. If you do not know what they are - Airstreams are well-made - light - durable - expensive travel trailers. Right now - the absolutely cheapest small one costs $45,000. One like this new is over $100,000.

This one is a 1987 Excel 1000 - about 31 feet long. This one has 4 distinct rooms - bedroom - bathroom - kitchen - living room. It is in nice shape for being 31 years old. The owner is asking $18,000 - the NADA book says it is worth about $3000 in average shape. This one is better than average.

When we visited the awnings were out and the air conditioning was on. It was very nice. The trailer weights 6000 pounds and has a hitch weight of about 500 pounds.

Although we could tow it with our camper - we are interested in it as a guest house - beach house - or an "up north summer house."  It would also be a playground for me to restore and detail.
