There is a display of Olympic medals and posters at the British Museum. Lulu and I took a sneak peak at them.
Lulu before her first class at 3 PM Tuesday. The medals are about 4 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick.
The medals for the Olympics are made of copper. The ore was mined in Utah. The medals are then plated with gold - silver - bronze.
The two medals at the right are for the Para - Olympics held right after the Olympics.
This is a poster from the 1948 Olympic in London - the one where Jack Robinson won his gold medal in basketball - also the year I was born - 64 years ago. We are hoping Jack brings his gold medal along to London.
