Pay Back is a Beach - Welcome to Florida, Duke - Even is if it is only Tallahassee

Keith and I have attended two Duke games this year - we like to call them "Everhart Bowls." The first time Keith's Georgetown beat Drew and Robin's Duke in DC. This time Nancy's FSU beat the Dukies right here in the heart of Cracker Country.

It was a festival atmosphere in Tallahassee. The game was sold out for weeks - 12,200 tickets. You may re-call two weeks ago FSU pushed Duke all over the court in Durham - only to lose by a point with some very questionable calls. The refs were so bad in that game that they were suspended by the ACC. So FSU was on a mission.

Keith flew down from Washington. Nancy's aunt and uncle - Ethel and John - drove six hours up from Vero Beach. It was senior night at the Tucker Civic Center. Too bad the game was on a week night - or Drew and Robn could have flown in to enjoy this family outing.

FSU took an early 12 point lead - then Duke stormed back to be 7 points ahead. But in the end it was all FSU. Two of Dukes best players fouled out. At the end of the game - seen nationally on ESPN - FSU fans got two technical fouls for running on the court with 2 seconds to go. After the game - Keith and Harry ran on the court and celebrated.

This victory assures FSU a place in the NCAA playoffs. It also sets them up well for the ACC playoff in Greensboro NC on March 8th to 13th.

A game for the ages. FSU beats number one Duke - we were there.

Now Nancy - Keith - Harry head to the ACC tournament - then Keith takes the train from there back to DC.
