New Canada money - made of plastic-
lasts a long time - hard to fake |
Monday started at 4 AM - with a quick breakfast and Uber ride to the airport. Fast Forward after 3 good flights to Atlanta - Minneapolis - and Winnipeg. Most of the last leg was over giant squares of farmer fields in the Great Plains of Canada. In the middle of these flat lands loomed a city of 700000 people.
When we landed - the University had a driver with a sign waiting for us - but we told him that we had a rental car waiting. The drive to our Holiday Inn on the south side was easy. We had lunch and were camped just north of the University of Manitoba.

The Red River meanders thru town |
From the air we saw the Red River with its big menaders as it rolls right through the city - north and south.
Tuesday and Wednesday - Lulu and Julianne - another FSU professor will do the workshop. After that we have 5 days to tour around Canada. It is a big country - and roads are measured in thousands of miles.
