We Are Going To Amsterdam and Athens

The Parthenon on the Acropolis in Athens - Greece

Lulu is doing a presentation in Athens - Greece.

We will leave Tallahassee tomorrow at 11 AM on Delta Airlines - flying first to Atlanta - then Amsterdam. We'll spend two nights in the Netherlands before flying to Athens on Sunday. After 8 nights total we will return home.

While doing an online check-in this morning - Delta asked if we would like to bid on a bump - volunteer giving up our seats. This bidding process is new to me. So Lulu and I bid $400 each to give up our tickets from Atlanta to Amsterdam. We would then fly a few hours later on the next flight. They did not accept our offer yet. If we get selected - we would get $800 worth of cash coupons to be used on any Delta flight. They are fully transferrable - they can even be sold.

Delta is the major airline out of Tallahassee - Lulu flies on them often. Since she has a gold medallion with them - they often upgrade her to first class for free - if there is a seat open.

In Athens - while Lulu is presenting at her conference - my main target will be the Parthenon. It sits on top of a high plateau called the Acropolis.

I just read that they open up the Acropolis for free on the night of the full moon. It is the only night opening of the month. The full moon is the day after we come home. What luck  :-(
