John Rich to Build Coal to Oil Plant

John Rich - Pennsylvania industrialist from Pottsville - is starting construction on a coal to oil plant about 12 miles northwest of Tamaqua. Construction is to be done in the Spring of 2006. It is being built with loan guarantees from the state and federal governments. When completed in 30 months - it will produce 40 millions gallons of fuel at 75 cents less per gallon than the current market price.
