Downtown Nuremburg - A Walled City From The 1400s

Check this out - 5 floors inside the roof alone.

We went to Nuremburg to mainly see the Nazi Party Rally Park and the site of the Nuremburg Trials. What we found was a walled medieval city that was mentioned in history as early as 1050. We stayed downtown near the train station on Saturday night.

We had supper in a strange cute little restaurant in a cellar. The door and steps seemed to be built for people 4 feet tall. I had potato soup - Lulu had spaetzle - which looked like a gooey mac and cheese.

Although the old town is still completely walled - it has grown outside the walls to over 500,000 people.

In 1944 - we did a little payback on Nuremburg. In one hour - they firebombed the city - destroying 90% of the city. After the war - the city was rebuilt mostly by women. The men were dead or in prison.

BMW used to make a great dry scooter.

It was very difficult going up
and down these steps to supper

We ate there because Lulu
like the menu - spaetzle.
