Campers - Hymer World - Closed Sunday

Hymer World sells many brands

This Fiat was 48,000 euros.

Sunday - we were driving home from Nuremburg to Darmstadt - when Hymer World appeared on the horizon. We were cruising on the autobahn - about 60 miles from home -  it seemed like a great place to stop.

Back home in Florida - we own a Roadtrek camper. It was made in Canada - but the Roadtrek company was recently purchased by the German giant - Hymer. We are here in Europe for 70 days while our camper sits back in our Florida yard - covered by a tarp.

Alas - on Sunday in Germany - many stores are closed. So was Hymer World. the places is very big with at least 200 campers in the air-conditioned glass showroom. Outside there were electric meters. People can camp there for free. Electricity was 3 hours for 1 euro. There were about 8 campers sitting there - one couple told us they were there to buy a new camper. They are full-timers. They were living with their dog - in a 21 foot motorhome. They spend summers in the Netherlands and winters in Spain.

Hymer also sells these cute lightweight
airstream like trailers.

Light Hymer fiberglass trailers.

Plug in - 3 hours for 1 euro

This was a restaurant.
