One little short runway - miss it and you are in the water.
We got out of the plane thru the back door.
Friday coming home from Switzerland - we flew into the London City Airport. Many people do not even know that it is there. It sits on a peninsula - almost an island sticking out into the Thames River. It has one short east-west runway. It reminds me of an aircraft carrier. When you take off - your jet winds up the engines and jumps off like a rocket. When you land - you better be ready for heavy braking. There is very little taxiing - you just make a short turn left - and you are at the terminal. They push 2 sets of steps up to the plane - you get out in the front or back. You are just a few steps away to the subway.
