Coach Crackers - Dick - Jan - Carl - Marylou - Enjoy A Whirlwind Weekend in Tallahassee

We parked in front of Bobby Bowden's statue. The FSU Hall of Fame -
is behind this group of coal crackers

Wednesday night - Dick and Jan met FSU
Coach Jimbo Fisher at the call-in show.

Our pre-game party at Doak Campbell Stadium

Wednesday - It all started Wednesday when Jan and Dick flew into Panama City from their home in Arizona. I picked them up around noon and we drove home to Tallahassee. No sooner than we got into town - we went to see the Seminole girls win a Volleyball match against Baylor - and also beat UConn in soccer.

Thursday - we enjoyed the opening of the movie - Sully - about the plane that landed in the Hudson River.

Friday -  Carl and Marylou completed a marathon drive from Tamaqua PA to join our party.

Saturday - We packed up our van for a day of tailgating and football. We had a VIP parking space right outside the stadium - and enjoyed tickets on row 6 on the 40 yard line. The Seminoles rolled up the score against Charleston Southern - it was hot and humid - so we decided to go home and watch the second half on the sofas. Dick cooked a gourmet meal of lasagna - meatballs - and sausages. He stocked our freezer with many more home cooked dinners.

Sunday - we all drove the van to Panama City Beach - where Dick and Jan will spend 10 days with Jan's sisters. We all played in the ocean together. Then we retreated to the Hofbrau House to celebrate Marylou's 70th. We have lots of great food and beer. Spirits were high as we had the traditional celebration of Jaegermeister and paddles of samples. At 7 PM - 4 of us piled into van and head back to Tallahassee.

Monday - Carl and Marylou left for Tampa - returning to their winter home.
