Ashley Neff - FSU Volleyball Player - Goes Pro in Finland

Ashley Neff - Joins the pros in Finland.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  – Following her graduation in the fall of 2013, Ashley Neff will join LiiggEura in Finland. Neff signed her contract on Friday and will join the team immediately. She is slated to stay with LiigaEura through the remainder of the 2013-14 season, which ends in April.
“I'm very excited about this opportunity to play in Finland,” Neff said. “I would like to thank my coaches, teammates and the Florida State family for helping me get to this point. Without the motivation and support from my family this wouldn't be possible.”
LiigaEura is a member of the Finland Volleyball Association and is one of nine teams in the Women’s Premier League.  LiigaEura finished the 2012-13 regular season in fourth place.
“Playing professional ball is a dream of most college athletes,” head coach Chris Poolesaid. “I’m proud that Ashley is getting this opportunity and she will have memories for the rest of her life.  Teams will often look to add players mid-season based on injuries or a specific need.  With Ashley graduating from FSU in December, this gives her the perfect opportunity to play the last half of the season and gain experience as a professional player.  I’m very proud of everything that Ashley has accomplished and I know that she will represent herself, her family and Florida State Volleyball in a very positive fashion.”
Neff becomes the 25th player in Seminole history to pursue international or professional experience.
The Kennesaw, Ga. native will look to join the team in time for their match on Feb. 2 against LiigaPloki.
