A Bridal Shower For My Future Daughter-in-Law - Liz

Liz and Keith - the reason for the gathering.

Last weekend - all the Everharts gathered in Tamaqua PA to honor a new family member. Keith and Liz are getting married in August - and Lulu wanted a proper Coal Cracker bridal shower for Liz.

Lulu flew to Syracuse on business and drove down to Tamaqua to plan the event. I flew to Richmond to spend some time with Drew and family - then we piled into a rental van for the 300 mile drive to Tamaqua. We all stayed in the Residence Inn north of town.

While the ladies had the shower at DiMaggio's - the kids toured Tamaqua. First we played at the Bungalow - then the grandkids saw where their father went to kindergarten. We had lunch at the Tamaqua Train Station.

Next we were called to the party - and we talked with all the guests. After the shower - we all went to Heisler's for miniature golf and ice cream.

Sunday is the toughest time - while we all left for points all over the country - Lulu was waving from the porch of our hotel. She would fly home from Allentown ABE a few hours later.

Drew drove the van all the way home to Richmond. I rode in back with the kids. The next day I caught a plane from Richmond to Tallahassee. It was all over.

We will all meet one more time on August 24th in Bedford Springs PA for the wedding.

Drew and Harry on Segways touring the Richmond Capital and Capitol.

On the way up I-95 we ran into a few military convoys.

The Bungalow pool was bright and clean. This is where Lulu and I met in the summer of 1969. It was where I invited her to Woodstock - alas her Mom made sure I went alone.

In 1973 - Lulu and I built this cedar chalet from a kit with major help from Paul Dodson. It overlooks the spot where we met in 1969. We lived in that small home for 30 years - it still looks good - maybe a little cluttered.

It didn't seem long ago that Drew and Keith were in these swings. Harry also rode on swings at that same spot in 1950.

The Everhart family table including niece Suzie, her stepdaughters Nicole and Emily, Traci, neighbor Shirley and sister Judy.
Lulu's friends Mary Lou, Jean, and Kathy - mom of Keith's friend Steve.

The Cox family table including Aunt Dolores, cousin Georgeann, cousin Ruthann, Lulu's sister Lori, brother Jack's fiancee Tami, and niece Dana.

Our family - Jack being held by Drew, Kate being held by Robin, Liz, Keith, Lulu, Harry.

Liz and friends Hannah, Eileen, and Kristen. Eileen (in black) is her maid of honor.

Jack played his first game of miniature golf at Heisler's.

 Robin beat all the boys.

 Jack loves to swim!

Lulu's favorite place in the pool with the grandchildren and Drew at the Residence Inn in Hazleton.  Drew protested the purchase of water wings by Lulu but the kids loved them.
